From Connected Development to Optability - Why We Changed the Name but Kept the Heart

Leadership has evolved—and so have we.

After years of working with organisations under the name Connected Development, we’re proud to introduce our new identity: Optability.While the name has changed, our mission remains the same—helping leaders and teams develop the human skills that drive performance, trust, and long-term success.

In this post, we’re sharing why we rebranded, what Optability means, and how it reflects the leadership development work we’re known for.

Why the Rebrand?

Connected Development was born from a belief that growth happens through meaningful relationships—between leaders, teams, and purpose. That belief still stands strong.

But over time, the work deepened.

We weren’t just helping people connect—we were helping them lead with awareness, inspire action, build trust, and create real, sustainable change.

We needed a name that captured not just what we do, but how we do it. Something that reflected the potential we help leaders unlock, and the intentional, human-centred approach we bring to every programme.

Why Optability?

The name Optability is rooted in two key ideas:

  • Ability—the ability to lead, connect, grow, and adapt.

It’s about more than skills. It’s about choice, awareness, and mindset. The ability to lead in a way that’s aligned, human, and built for the long term.
